We are proud of what we have achieved over the years. The Headies stage has birthed the careers of many artistes who are of A-list status today. We are also glad that we have reinstated pride and prestige into the winning of a locally organised music awards and, we have celebrated artistic ingenuity for 10 straight years; a feat no other group before us was able to achieve.

Every year, the screening team collate all creative materials released in the year in review and screen for nomination. This tedious process goes on for at least three months before the screening team comes out with a final list. The voting categories, such as 'Song Of The Year', 'Artist Of The Year', & 'Next-Rated' are left strictly for fans to vote and choose the winners. We wish to say categorically that we do not tamper with the outcome of the voting process. Davido rebuffs Dele Momodu, says Sophia visits Imade weekly

David Adeleke, the 23-year-old pop artiste popularly known as Davido has rebuffed claims by his estranged lover, Sophia Momodu on the circumstances surrounding the removal of their daughter, Imade, from Sophia’s custody.

In a lengthy narrative issued last night, Adeleke alleged that Sophia had been in weekly contact with Imade up till last week and claimed that hospital authorities had sought to transfer the baby to officials of the Lagos State Children Welfare Authority on account of alleged drug use by Sophia.

Adeleke in his narrative said the hospital authorities recanted only after Sophia agreed to surrender the baby for care with him, saying his estranged lover had kept to the agreement until she recanted last week as she insisted on going along with the Adeleke family for the treatment and family vacation in Dubai.

Somalia bans Christmas, New Year festivities

Somalia’s government has banned celebrations of Christmas and New Year in the Muslim majority country, saying the festivities might attract Islamist attacks. “All events related to Christmas and New Year celebrations are contrary to Islamic culture, which could damage the faith of the Muslim community,” the director general of the religious affairs ministry told reporters on Tuesday.

Sheikh Mohamed Khayrow said security forces had been ordered to break up any such celebrations. “There should be no activity at all,” he said. Sheikh Nur Barud Gurhan, of the Supreme Religious Council of Somalia, said that non-Muslim festivities might provoke the ire of the Shebab, East Africa’s Al-Qaeda branch, which is headquartered in Somalia.

FG declares December 24, 25, and 28 public holidays

The Federal Government has declared holiday for Thursday Dec. 24th (eid el Malud), Friday Dec. 25th (Christmas) Saturday, Sunday and Monday as public holidays...

The declaration was made in a statement by the Minister of the Interior, Rtd Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau. It reads "The Federal Government has declared Thursday, 24th December 2015 as public holiday to mark Eid-E-Maulud celebration. "Friday, 25th and Monday 28th December 2015 have also been declared as public holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day celebration."
