Globacom on Saturday night prepared the residents of Aba, Abia State, for the forthcoming Yuletide season with a big-bang edition of Nigeria’s tour concert, the Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce.
For top dignitaries and other fun seekers who trooped out in their thousands to watch the show at the Binez Hotel, Aba, there could have been no better way to herald the Christmas season than the Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce concert which had an array of the biggest entertainers in the country.
The residents of the city also confirmed that “in Aba, age is not a barrier to fun”, as 78-year old Chief Silas Nwakandu, was one of the Aba residents who attended the show.
“My presence here tonight is a validation of that statement. As you can see, when the young man who is the MC (Okey Bakassi) announced that he had gifts for people above 50 years, more that 50 people came out. I am 78 years old and I looked round the hall and I saw some of my contemporaries there. Even, you also saw how very well the old people danced”, said Chief Nwakandu.
Parading the likes of Omawumi, MI, Wizkid and Flavour, and with guest appearances by the duo of Nollywood actors, Charles Awurum and Victor Osuagwu, the show offered the crowd a funfilled evening and kept them dancing and rocking all through the event.
Jennifer Njoku, one of the guests at the show said, “in a long while, Aba had not had so much fun like we are having tonight. And with the number and calibre of artistes Globacom has brought to perform at this show, Aba is being prepared for a fun-filled festive season. Kudos to Globacom”.

This is a rare opportunity Globacom has given to us and we shall forever be grateful to Glo for this privilege.
For Ihetu Adaobi, a pregnant woman who won the rapping competition, she said, “it will go down in history that the Aba Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce delivered to us a full package of entertainment. Music is my passion and with the number of stars performing tonight, I can imagine the huge investment Globacom has committed to this show all to delight us in Aba free of charge.
