As part of efforts towards achieving digitization in Nigeria, Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) seeks collaboration with government to actualize timely process.
Speaking to journalists in Lagos to announce the upcoming annual dinner of EMCOAN holding on Saturday December 12, at the R &A City Hotel, Ikeja, the President, Debby Odutayo, said: “We are hosting Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, at the EMCOAN’s annual dinner this year, aimed at strengthening better relationship and forging stronger ties with government.
“As media content providers with virtually 80 percent of media contents in the electronic sector, we have a strong role to play towards actualizing digital process in Nigeria. We urge the government to recognize and partner with the association, having contributed immensely to the development of the entertainment industry in the Nigeria.”
The keynote address entitled: “The importance of content in advertising in Nigeria” will be delivered by the Registrar, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), Alhaji Garba Kankarofi, while Director General, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Emeka Mba is expected to deliver a paper themed: “The role of independent producers in the era of Digitization.”
Other dignitaries expected at the dinner are, Hon. Jide Jimoh, lawmaker representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency, Joe Igbokwe, Publicity Secretary, All Progressive Congress (APC), Lagos State and Dayo Adeneye, Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Ogun State, among others.
