IPOB PROTEST: Catholic Knights appeal for calm in S-East

PORT HARCOURT: Following the persistent protests by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) over the continuous incarceration of its leader and Radio Biafra Director, Nnamdi Kanu by the Department for Security Service, DSS, the Knights of Saint Mulumba, Nigeria has appealed to the protesting youths to sheath their swords.
The order made this appeal on Friday, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, while fielding questions after briefing newsmen to mark the opening of its 36th Annual Convention, on the theme, The Church in Nigerian and its role in Democracy Governance.
The Supreme Knight, Bro. Anthony Onuh expressed worries over the continuous protest by IPOB in the area.

Onuh said the continuous protest has ruptured the peace that has been enjoyed by the people of Igbo extraction and hampered economic activities in the area.
The Supreme Knight also said the appeal was necessary in the interest of peace and unity of the nation which he said was in a trial period.
He said that the nation was facing several challenges which threaten the peace of the nation, adding that protest in South East was unnecessary and avoidable.
